And the Journey Begins...

Have you ever been prompted by God to do something that seemed beyond what you could possibly do? Then you listen, pray, and expect it will pass, hoping it wasn’t actually a prompting from God but simply a grandiose idea passing through your mind, only to find that it won’t go away. God won’t leave you alone about it. He has a plan for you and if you accept the calling, He will use you. This is where I’ve found myself.

It seems to have started back in June of 2017, as I was standing by my stereo, thumbs upping a worship song on Pandora, I was prompted to host a women’s bible study at my home for a few ladies. Their faces started coming into my mind. As each face came to me, I texted her. And so, it began, a simple, weekly bible study at my home. As we searched for the perfect study, we ended up deciding on one that I had purchased 6 years prior at a women’s ministry leadership conference. I had opened it, and only gotten through day 1, all those 6 years before, then set it on a shelf to collect dust with the intention that one day, I’d take the time to do the study.

Fast forward to June 2017, this dust collecting book was the one that was determined to be the study of choice. And wow, after finally diving into the study and more importantly the Living Word with the community of women around me, I realized how desperately I needed to hear those words at that time in my life. Little did I know that this was just the beginning of God re-purposing me.

As I spent countless hours on my neon green kayak, soaking up the son. Yes, the SON and sun, I was utilizing the words in this study to help me dig deeper and explore the word of God. The words were alive. I started to see more and hear more. God was calling me! Pulling at me. And the more I leaned into him, the more he revealed.

The visions that he gave me were vibrantly clear, as if they were real. I was excited and confused about these images in my head. But I would simply continue to write what he brought to me. Assuming he was teaching me something, and he was! I simply continued to walk in faith and lean in. I didn’t have expectations of God. I simply knew he was working in me.

Then in March of 2018, he revealed a tiny piece of what I was to be doing…. I’ll tell you more about that in the next post… So, stay tuned. I’m excited to share with you what He has done over the past 8 months, and for you to walk along side me in this journey. I’m walking in faith and taking steps, trusting Him, even though it doesn't all make perfect sense to me at this moment. I'll leave you with this word from God, "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act." He will ACT!
